The EU funding programme LEADER in Austria
LEADER has been supporting active regional development in Austrian regions since the country joined the EU.
LEADER enables the population to utilise local development potential themselves and to maintain and improve the quality of life through initiatives tailored to the region.
In the 2023-2027 funding period, 83 regions are already committed to strengthening rural areas.
Leader Region Ennstal-Ausseerland: Cultural institutions bridge the gap between the real and digital cultural experience.
The Ennstal-Ausseerland Leader Region has supported 14 regional cultural institutions in virtualising their exhibitions and integrating them into the Discover Culture network.
This pioneering project not only strengthens the individual cultural institutions, but also connects them in a strong digital cultural network. By combining real and digital cultural experiences, regional culture is secured for the future and made accessible to a wider audience.
With the support of Leader in this initiative, the region is demonstrating how cultural businesses can take advantage of the opportunities offered by digitalisation.
