"ZEITROAS" the local history museum in Ramsau am Dachstein

The "ZEITROAS" museum is the new Ramsau museum project for locals and guests, consisting of a central museum in the old Pehabstall in Ramsau-Ort.

The contents conveyed are intended to have a lasting effect, to encourage enquiry and investigation, to point to many points in nature, to cultural and sporting facilities, and to the interesting buildings and museums in Ramsau.

The main topics are the tourist development of the place, the unique emergence and preservation of the Protestant faith in the Catholic Habsburg Empire, i.e. the time of the Reformation, Counter-Reformation and Secret Protestantism, and of course the topic of the Dachstein.

The theme of hunting and its history is given wide space through a special permanent exhibition. Temporary special exhibitions from various social fields complete the visitor experience.

Interactive installations, historical objects, pictures and films let you guess and experience, guess and discover the special features of Ramsau.

Our "little" guests are also accompanied through the museum by our mascot, "Klaus the Mouse".

The museum shop in the entrance area offers historical and contemporary regional literature, photos and films on and around Ramsau and the Dachstein, handicraft souvenirs and regional products, and much more.
