Virtual Tours
Experience the Altaussee Literature Museum virtually
The Museum
The Altaussee Museum of Literature presents a new programme featuring prominent literary figures who have worked and continue to work in Altaussee.
Original items such as the Herzl bicycle or Torberg's voice are staged.
The local history appears in a new design and the cabinet of curiosities by Prof Horst K. Jandl has been uniquely supplemented in terms of media.
The bookshop
The attractive bookshop with literature from Austria and especially from Ausseerland invites you to browse. The book flea market with inexpensive paperbacks in several languages, the well-stocked reference library, the sun-drenched reading room and the well-tended literary garden, designed by Barbara Frischmuth, invite visitors to linger and pause for a moment. A special feature is the organised "literary village walks for groups" and the annual high-quality programme of events.

„GASPERLMAIER AND THE GUESTS“
Locals and second-homers
Not only as a police officer, but also as a private individual, Gasperlmaier has dealings with guests in Altaussee. Those who leave again, and those who want to stay.
Scenes from various crime films illustrate the often not entirely smooth relationship between Gasperlmaier and those who come to the Ausseerland from elsewhere – and not always with entirely honourable intentions.
This offers an insight into the latest Gasperlmaier Altaussee crime novel
„Der letzte Landler“.
Herbert Dutzler is reading.
