Your Austria Guide will be waiting for you at the information booth (No. 95) directly in front of the Christmas tree on Residenzplatz.
You will pass inviting market stalls and learn interesting stories and historical facts about the Salzburg Christmas Market.
The cathedral – Salzburger Dom
offers many interesting stories about the origin of Christmas traditions in our region. Discover a local nativity scene, a historically interesting baptismal font and a Christmas decorated high altar with an original Advent wreath.
You will learn more about the origin of Christmas, the meaning of the Advent wreath, how the nativity scene came into our living rooms, about the song „Silent Night, Holy Night“ and much more.

The Christmas tour at the Salzburg Christmas Market includes the following: 1.5 hours city tour, certified Austria Guide, small private groups, the best sights of the old town of Salzburg, a visit to the Salzburg Christmas Market, a visit to the Salzburg Cathedral, St. Peter monastery, a visit to the Salzburg Christmas Museum (optional) and much more.
