Die beeindruckende Festungsanlage fand im Jahre 860 erstmals urkundliche Erw\u00e4hnung. Stolze 14 Tore besitzt die Anlage, ein Wanderweg f\u00fchrt Besucher und Besucherinnen einen 150 Meter hohen Burgfelsen hinauf \u2013 begeben Sie sich auf eine virtuelle Wanderung durch gelebte Historie, die sich Ihnen in der Burg Hochosterwitz offenbart.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div><\/section>\n\n

Die R\u00e4umlichkeiten der Hochburg enthalten den von Napoleon \u00fcbrig gelassenen Teil der R\u00fcstkammer, bestehend aus einer gr\u00f6\u00dferen Anzahl R\u00fcstungen zum Teil mit dem Khevenh\u00fcller Wappen, daneben Panzerhemden, Tartschen, Sturmhauben, S\u00e4ttel, Pulverh\u00f6rner, Speere, Lanzen, Hellebarden, Gesch\u00fctze etc.<\/p>\n

Eine gro\u00dfe Anzahl Ahnenbilder und historische Gem\u00e4lde zieren die W\u00e4nde und in den Schauk\u00e4sten liegen St\u00fccke von besonderem historischen Wert, die mit der Burg- bzw. Familiengeschichte im Zusammenhang stehen.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n

Wie in seinem Testament festgehalten, hat Georg Khevenh\u00fcller die Burg mit einer Waffenkammer ausgestattet, zum Schutz f\u00fcr die Burg und der Bev\u00f6lkerung. Eine Vielzahl der Waffen sind bis heute noch erhalten und ausgestellt.<\/p>\n

Darunter sind Jagdwaffen, Kanonen und eine Bombarde aus dem fr\u00fchen 14 Jahrhundert, die wohl die \u00e4lteste bekannte Feuerwaffe der Welt ist. Harnische, R\u00fcstungen, Hellebarden und Schwerter bezeugen den Nahkampf, der ben\u00f6tigt wurde, um einfallende Heere zu bek\u00e4mpfen.<\/p>\n

Beutest\u00fccke aus den T\u00fcrkenkriegen sind genauso vorhanden wie Armbr\u00fcste, Pfeil und Bogen sowie Dolche.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div><\/section>\n\n

Der weltweit einzig bekannte Menschenf\u00e4nger wird von einer Tournier Prunkr\u00fcstung aus N\u00fcrnberg gehalten. Die bekannten Khevenh\u00fcller Harnische zeigen feinste Gravierarbeiten und Plattner-Kunst. Waffenbegeisterte werden genauso auf ihre Kosten kommen wie Geschichtsinteressierte. Erwachsene und Kinder k\u00f6nnen sich durch Besichtigung in die Abenteuer der Ritter vergangener Zeiten hineinversetzen.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>\n\n
